Leak Tests are performed for one of the following three purposes:

Avoid a loss of fluid that interferes with the operation of the system.

Avoid the risk of fire, explosion, environmental contamination or damage to equipment and people due to accidental leaks.

To detect unreliable components and those where the leakage rate exceeds acceptability standards.

ZERO LEAKS DOES NOT EXIST, THE OBJECTIVE IS TO ENSURE THAT THE LEAKAGE RATE IS WITHIN SPECIFICATIONS.
